Well, the couple with the lease is loving it. They just recently took a week off and went on a cruise. They actually got engaged in the Bahamas. Usually, they are keeping the roads hot 24/7 and they never go home. Home is where they are. They are paying the bills, and then some, and seem very happy. One left Swift Academy to drive with Werner because he had a cat that he wanted to take with him, and he's relatively happy. There's another guy that left the academy and was hired by Swift. He drove for them for just over 4 months and now he's moved on to a local driving job because he couldn't take being away from his family so much while his kids were so young. Unfortunately, of the ones that still drive for Swift, some are happier than others, but they all are of the opinion that they are just there to pay their dues and move on to greener pastures.

That's what my wife and I want to do. There are so many questions and variables to this industry its almost mind numbing. The l/o deal kinda alarms me a bit though and I'm not sure that's my answer. We have no kids and I have just sold our home so being in the wind 24/7 is something we both want. Drive for 5 years or so and stop and buy 100 acres in the country. Then decide what's next. At least that's the plan (dream) lol.

I feel you on the life change friend. Be careful taking the trip and by all means stay away from the Memphis truck stops. We are world famous for being the worst lol.
