Hello to everyone in this thread, got everything completed and feel ready to go. As being a Swift driver is very in my interests but have a few questions to ask to know whether or not I will be going with Swift. I live in Florida, and I do understand that is really hard for truckers to go through Fl. Do Swift deliver in Orlando areas a lot and go down south near Miami area because that's where most of my family is right now. And as a driver being from Fl how long will I be out if I go otr? And about their equipments, what trucks do they currently have in their fleet right now? I plan to get started but wanted to know these informations first. Thanks

If you can get on the Arcadia, fl dedicated Walmart account, you'll have it made. If not, stay away from Swift

If you're otr, they usually want you out a minimum of 18 days, then 3 days off. You get a day off for every 6 days out. Most of their fleet for company drivers are volvos.

15 days=3 days off but depending on your terminal, you will have to turn in your truck if you take more than 3 days and get another when you come back. The trucks Swift has for OTR are Freightliners, Volvos, Internationals, Kenworths and some Peterbuilts. For regional dedicated you will slip seat a day cab and be off about every 6-7 days however those are plum spots you will unlikely get as a new solo but some have; it depends on what is needed where you are, when you are.

Florida is tough to get on with most companies because of limited freight routes however Swift has the Walmart dedicated account in Ocala. Your application to Swift may not be accepted due to where you live so the best first step is to contact a recruiter.

Thanks. I live near Ocala area, I did get accepted and my recruiter want me to give her the date on when I want to get started. But I wanted to know first if Swift was going to be the company I wanted to go with. There are only 2 companies that called me, Prime Inc and Swift. Also got accepted for Prime to but having a hard time on choosing which company I want.

You can do OK at swift in ocala.

They have options available that may suit your needs.
