Of course truck drivers have a look. You can spot one a mile away. He is usually about 5'7", 450 lbs, old and faded tattoos, he is bald on top, but lets the sides grow to his shoulder blades, half of his teeth are missing and the ones still there are rotten, his oversized wife beater is about ten years old with food stains everywhere, his beard hasn't seen a brush in decades, he smells like the bottom of a Port-a-John before its cleaned, and he uses his breath to loosen rusty bolts.

As far as women drivers. Let me tell you something...I have seen some very petite, very attractive women truck drivers, and not just according to trucker standards. Just the other day I saw one and thought to myself, "Why is she on this side of the truck stop? Must be in a camper." Nope, jumped up in a truck and wheeled it right out of there. Over the last 20 years a lot more women have become drivers. The ones I have met were either REALLY bad or REALLY good. The ones who were REALLY good were exactly that, really good. Good enough I wouldn't have a problem asking for advice if I was having an issue. The bad ones, like most men drivers, don't last very long.

Personally, I don't care if its a donkey driving, as long as it knows what its doing and can do it safely. It may be difficult to understand its directions, but a lot of human drivers are like that too.

You do what you want to do as long as you are able. If not, you will regret it when you are older.

If you can see over the steering wheel and reach the foot controls, you are tall enough.

I would recommend relocating to Texas, near our ports you can get on with Tanker companies easily. A decent number of them even train people right out of school... Texas perks? No state income tax, and if you need a "home base" rent is very affordable here or just post up on a roommate site. Running tanker you'll want a place to stay imo. You can go OTR and run system, but regional outfits normally run out/back to the ports and Chem plants. You'll be home every few days for your 10, and have your 34reset at home as well.

It's funny that you recommend this. I I'm from Texas. Houston is where I'm from and I moved up to Colorado not too long ago. Now I guess I shouldn't have moved...
