Hey, i'm currently unemployed, i got laid off from DHL. My unemployment checks aren't going to last forever. So i have been reading about truck driving, and i had a few questions. I saw PAM did paid CDL trainning, is there any other companies that offer this? also what is the the home time like with PAM? how do trucking companies feel about IPODs? (im sure this is a silly question, but i love my music) i just looking to get my foot in the door, so any help will be great!

IPod's are fine with PDS as long as you don't have it plugged into your ears, and if you're lucky, you'll get a truck with an aux-in jacked radio. As for hiring, you'll get trained and probably put on a waiting list. Hometime isn't necessarily a priority with PDS and Transport so expect to be out three to five weeks with three or four days off, CEX/Decker do pretty well with it from what I've been told by their drivers.

There are several other companies out there that offer the same type of CDL-for-low-paying slavery contract work and they are mainly starter companies. Some are better than others, and some actually might be a place for you to stay after your contract is up. Depends on what you're willing to put up with.
