Howdy ya'll. I am wanting to get back in the business. I miss it and yes I have a plan in place...I think. So here goes. I have been out for 3 years. I drove reefers from NC to west coast team for 4 years then I ran solo for the same company on the east coast. No NYC, no hazmat, no doubles or triples, just reefers and occasional dry vans. There's the history. Now the plan. I am going through a divorce and caught a charge from it that i go to trial for Dec 9. Good lawyer. I didn't do it but it involves the wife so i am not taking it lightly at all. No drugs or felonies and the charge isnt a felony, but i didnt do it so im fighting it. My plan is to go back with a regional run or dedicated until I can make the move to be an IC. (Possibly 2 years)I want my own truck. Not a lease. I have been reading this forum daily since September. I am leaving this up to God for direction, but I still have to make the moves and do the research. My total monthly bills are less than 1k. I know this is possible. Now i need input from ya'll. Worse case scenario i get a misdemeanor charge in December. Is this going to make me un-hireable?

@Chinatown will have suggestions. Short reply to your question. No, it won't make you unemployable. Limit your options, yes. Keep the faith.

You'll be fine, just be upfront with any potential employers about it.
