A little background info, I live in southern Louisiana on the I-10 corridor right by the Basin Bridge, 37yrs old and have always been a jack of all trades etc, working oilfield construction, oilfield service hand etc, but lately down here it really has died off (offshore/southern Louisiana). Anyways cant afford to pay for, get loan and no co-signer to go private route. What my ideal situation would be is to go company sponsored training, the SHOREST one where you can get out of the loan etc and then move over to oilfield trucking, something I am familar with etc, and also want to move out west, prefer colorado area rifle etc. Anyways any suggestions on which carrier I should go with? I am use to driving, been running oilfield company trucks sometimes over 70k a year, use to nasty hard work, doesnt scare me, I just want to have a career where I know there will always have work and something to fall back on
Questions and suggestions needed

Have you checked with the dislocated workers center? They are often near community colleges and can be a great source of funding if you qualify.
Other than that, a year is the shortest commitment time I usually see, but I certainly would avoid training through a company at all costs. -
Yeah I checked with WIA here, the only funding they have is if you were working during the oil spill and lost your job, at the time I wasnt so im SOL in that department. Been looking at Key Oil, scene others say they train but I havent came across anything saying that on there site
-
Nevermind just found the Key Energy info, going throw resume in there and cross fingers

Go to the Love's, the Tiger stop or the Pilot at Breau Bridge. All have tons of free trade pamphlets advertising the different trucking co's. Then start phoning.

Check out community colleges. Anyone can get a federal student loan and maybe even a grant. Then you don't owe any trucking company your first born. Those type loans you don't have to start repaying until 6 months after graduation. Enough time to get on your feet.

a federal student loan places one in exactly that position, dispensing time-limitations on collection procedure ~ any such loan to a "company" is ( likely ) a civil tort devoid of federation - thus is subject to time-limitations along with other collection procedure rules

I'm not a dumb guy my any means but your posts baffle the crap out of me.HeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thanks this.

I can simplify it: Go ask some Postal who is driving a truck what they get and what the facts are, they get ten dollars an hour and if damage the truck owe gov for damages, with no "statute of limitations" which is actually "time limitations" on filing complaint at bench of law for some things, ..... when we are interacting with Federal they do whatever they want and can be amazing at it
If one gets a "Student Loan" then collection procedures can occur in any manner they want.
In other words, Federal is not what you think it is. One incurs lifetime financial obligation when doing student loan, which surprised me. Research it and dig deep, you will find the same.
