    Hello Everyone!

Does anyone knows if Conway allow a pet in the truck? Also, do they have their own school for CDL?

    Thanks. Be safe out there!

The Conway Truckload does allow the little critters. I believe there is a non refundable deposit, and a charge of 1 cent per mile. I also believe you get the penny back if you meet fuel mileage standards. The purpose is, more idling when a pet is in there. You should be able to get the penny back, the standards aren't that tough.

They have a schools they are affilited with. Attending them may qualify you for some tuition assistance. I used the one at Crowder College near Joplin. The school charged me some, and deferred the rest. If I didn't get hired by Conway or meet my commitments to conway, I would have had to pay the balance.
The commitment is easy. Get your cdl, go through orientation, get hired, go out with a finisher (trainer) with pay, When you deliver your first load, conway pays the balance of your tuition.

The school was excellent, the training was fine, I got my own truck and delivered the first load and Conway paid the balance of the tuition. I have been here for 2 years now, and am a trainer myself. The pay coming out of school was the best of the competitors and the commitment was the easiest. Some you are on the hook for 18 months or more.

There is also a school in the detroit area with the same affiliation with Conway.

I don't quote exact figures because they may have changed. Call a recruiter, get the straight scoop and get on with us!

    Good luck.

    Hey RR!

That was awesome info! I just wonder if they hire from here (Montana).
What about this thing I read from other Conway Thread... you have to work on the dock before you go solo. Is that true?

    Thanks!

    Oh, ok. Thanks, TruckerPete!

I have another question... For recent grad, can you request to go with Teams then do solo later?

    Thanks again. Be safe!

If you got your CDL you should pass the obstacle course, road test and backing with no problem. Are you going to Crowder for the boot camp? If so, you will get more practice there. When you go out with a finisher, you will get a ton of practice in live situations as well as open parking lot practice. When you get turned loose, you will be qualified, but, honestly it takes a while to get comfortable.

Good luck, keep us posted on boot camp and your otr training.

    Be safe.
