So now they don't answer there phones are e-mails. I glad I didn't sign up with them. If you can't get a recruiter to talk to you!!! Just thank about the rest of the company. Stuck in a truck some where wait on a answer. No bodies home. Hello!! Hello anybody there. 1year=12months=52 weeks=365days. I can do it Or I'm going down in flames.
i'm also trying to decide which company to go with. i applied to prime. there program is longer but it will go by quickly and when finished i will have had more time to learn to drive and be as safe as a rookie can be. check them out
I just found your thread due to the add on comments. What did you decide to do? After thinking about it a minute the larger companies do have people with college degrees doing various jobs and as the business runs on pennies someone with a degree in economics might find a job eventually in transportation management. Dispatchers, load planners et.. make as much and more than drivers and very few college grads want to start as drivers in the trench so I would look at some good sized companies that you might want to work in management eventually and get the driving out of your system with the aim of moving up. Good Luck! I went to driving school with a retired manager with a college degree who wanted to drive after retirement but found out pretty quick that it wasn't fun and went to work for a medium sized trucking company near his home in the office and should be about retired a second time now.
Thank you very much; I really appreciated your insight. My former instructor hinted on this point as well. While on the employment hunt trail, I have always considered the possibility of a cooperate or similar position in the transportation industry. I am also filling out application for these positions. You see, some people don't wait for opportunities to knock,..nor do they hesitate to answer that door. My plan is to step beyond the point of entry, networking like spider and at the same time eager to pounce like a hungry lion. I have been offered to orientation opportunity by FFE, PAM, TRANSAM, PRIME, CRST and CRETE and I am still weighing my options. I have been burdened for months with the debt of my college education, and that of the credit card used in paying that 5k for my CDL training at NCC. I wont let my investments go wasted. I am not trying to get rich (but I will still take it), I am just trying to feed, roof over my head and pay my creditors. That's why I am being picky and choosy on which company I will work for. By Godspeed I will decide soon, and hopefully make more out of the opportunity. You are an inspiration, Thanks again
Boy would Dave Ramsey and Suze Oman have something to say about that ! Paying $5,000 for a trucking school using a credit card ? I'd like to know what economics class lead to that logic .
