The problem with building a load with partial loads on UShip is all too often shippers will cancel after you think you've set up your run to make money . A shipper will seem to commit then continue to check bids and accept a lower one .
Once you use a shipper through Uship you are prohibited from using that shipper without going through UShip . There is a forum where UShip carriers exchange names of good shippers . Nothing prevents them from not using UShip to go to a shipper they were referred to .

Well that's the failure of Chrysler and their dealer network which is far less efficient than Whirlpool for example.
The point is waiting for weeks, not days for something that may fix the truck - not a lot of mechanics around know how to service some of the older diesels let alone how to troubleshoot them. Today we have people sitting with their computers in the bays downloading trouble codes, looking up what parts to replace - most of the time it works but there are times when the problem is deep and they blow off the work saying "its fixed!" when it is not. -
Shipping Wars is just a hoot to watch. I mean, you got one guy that's driving a friggin Church Bus that he hasn't even taken off the 1st Baptist Church logo on the side of it... I can't believe a shipper would even deal with him when he pulls up as the winning bidder.
The comments the non-winning drivers make is pretty good entertainment as well.
I've watched a LOT of bids and offers on UShip and there is definitely a LOT of fishing going on there. People put ads on there with the locations and the destination being the exact same. Shippers ask questions that never get answered on those shipments.
Care to share where that 'more work to keep a small truck busy' might be coming from? Is there another board that's better that UShip? Or are you talking about dealing with brokers that would laugh a truck more than 10 years old right out of the yard? -
The kids that are trying, I root for. I keep my mouth shut after that. No Comment. Like the show.

Winners? They have winners on Shipping Wars ? I never have and never will watch the show . It's a slap in the face to the industry . All I know is UShip is a contest to see who gets to be the biggest loser . They probably should have named Shipping Wars Biggest Loser but there was already a show with that name.KF7WTV Thanks this.

You're missing a key part of actually being on that 'show'.. The Discovery Channel pays them as well. I've heard as much as $100K a year. There's a boyfriend/girlfriend couple on there that's driving at least 3 different trucks from what I've seen. All of them look pretty new as well.
It's entertainment mostly.. What else is there to watch on TV?? Ohh wait, I forgot.. Ice Road Truckers.. zzzZZZZzzzz..
Watch it sometime for the entertainment factor, then you'll also get an idea what all those Duallie CrewCabs pullin Gooseneck trailers are getting away with.. -
There is nothing like having your truck and have in it paid for..." unless you are planning to call 911 every time a light bulb go out" if so you better Have $$$$
A back up plan ....10/10?
