Ha Ha, Hey Guys im a 4 wheeler (or a 4x4er;=])
Anyway, i noticed you guys really didnt get an anwser... Well heres one.. People are stupid.... i really dont know if i should be talking, I sometimes drive like an *******.... but i never have caused or been in an on road accident [rolled down a hill into a tree once, wasnt bad little dent in the hood] well anyway... yeah thats your anwser people are stupid, and hypocritical... And self consumed and ... stuff... Well theirs your anwser...

and just to let you know im only 20, but i totally respect you guys. I understand what you have to deal with and what the statistics were before passenger cars... you know back when you guys wernt getting into accidents. anyway, i am as nice as i can be too truckers, and even passenger cars... even though i think they ... know they respect it less than you guys. ive probably cut in front of truckers 2wice, ive gotten on the CB and apologized.

So, should we assume that when truckers are driving a 4-wheeler they're doing everything perfectly? I doubt it. Bad behavior carries over from one vehicle to another.

I drive a concrete truck right now and I guess my gripe is about the same as everybody elses. Stupid people pulling out in front of me with 10 yards of concrete on.

I blame cell phones and today's work environment for people in cars being poor drivers.

Most people have more stuff to do than they can cram into a 24 hr day... btwn work, sleep and personal life. So they're in a hurry and don't want to waste time drivign, they're short on sleep, and they feel they need to "multitask" while driving to make better use of their time.

They need to be reading, talking on the phone, text messaging, checking emails or surfing the web on their blakcberry/trio, etc.

Unfortunately 98% of the people can't drive WELL and chew gum, let alone do these other things that take concentration.

I think they should ban talking on cell phones while driving. There will still be bad drivers... but I think a whole lot less of them.

I would like to know why 4-wheelers can phone us in for 'cutting' them off... Why cant we dial a number, give the 4-wheelers licence plate number, and report them to the authorities? Where someone will call the 4-wheeler into an office to find out what happened on that day that he probably cant even remember?
I would hazard a guess that in any one day we may scare regular traffic by backing in off a street into someones small yard or by changing lanes in heavy traffic, but we didnt necessarily endanger anyone... so they call in.
However, how many 4-wheelers directly endanger us and themselves by the absolutely assinine things they do?

I agree with all that you stated, but snipped this part to add something to it.

How many times in a day would you say that, as a professional driver, someone makes it home to their family in their car simply because a trucker acted in a professional manner and avoided a would-be collision resulting from said 4-wheelers stupidity? I'd venture a guess that I've done this at least once every day, with the occasional half dozen or so times on the days I've been in a major city's rush hour.
