Won't do you any good behind me. My CB is almost always turned off and I don't usually worry about the bears.

ROFL!!! I have to admit, for a 4 wheeler, I would say he is still safe. Everyone knows that the cop will pull over the truck before the 4 wheeler! More revenue.

So true. If a trucker's slowing down for no apparent reason, there's usually a very real reason up ahead. This is actually the only reason I plan to put a CB in my truck. I wonder if Roehl already has CB's in there... doubt it.

Same here. I seldom drive more than 5 over the limit any more so I have little to worry about. Only the occasional traffic jam and most of those aren't reported any more. With it off I certainly don't hear a lot of the absolute BS that goes on.

Back to the original topic of poor drivers................... it sure seemed like today was a special day for morons to come out of the wood work. Dunno why, just I had to deal with more today than I did all week.

I listen to shows on XM radio so I only keep the CB on half the time. Even if you was speeding and a cop was behind you, in these times, some drivers will not even let you know its behind you.

I am a 4-wheeler with an 18-wheeler hubby. I try to be as respectful to 18-wheelers as possible. But, 4-wheelers do the same thing to other 4-weelers. I realise that stopping is a little harder for truckers, but I've had to slam my brakes for stupid people lots of times. :biggrin_25513:
I agree with the age of electronics being part of the prob. I try not to use my cell while on the road. I use my bluetooth if I am driving. That way both hands are free.
I think people just don't realise, don't pay attention, or don't care about anyone but themselves. That is how alot of people are out there on the road.:smt102

nope. our trucks have antenna's on them. but the coaxel cabel and antenna is cheap.. so when u get ur rig your first stop should be a truckstop with a cb shop and ask them what you need.

did that at the petro off 90 in new york. the dude told me which antenna to buy from teh store next door, cut the tip to turne it perfect for me, sold me an 18foot coax cable which i have set up nicely so u cant even see it. and my output on their lil gauge thing is like 1 degree or percent or unit or whatever over perfect. so im beyond perfect lol. i get roughly 10 mi radus. depending on terreign. i got a cobra 25 ltd classic radio, cb shop coax and a cobra high gear antenna. whole kit cost me about $100. the radio was on sale for $70 the cable was $8 and the antenna was on sale for $10

my question to 4 wheelers is what is it aout a big truck that makes some of you drive like an idiot/insane??? i drove a rental car from wi to tx and ppl passed me normaly, went around me, never cut me off. nothing. i get my new rig suddenly ppl are cutting me off, riding beside me... jumping in front of me and hitting their brakes. now i checked my trailer it doesnt have a sticker that says 'please drive like a moron' on it, so explain what is it about a big truck that makes yunz go nuts??

question 2: why do you feel the need to call the 1-800-2-fire-me number on the back of a trailer and report false claims about us????
i had a lunitic 4 wheeler claim i ran a redlight, made a left turn, causing them to 'slam on thier brakes' .. and the time this incident happened i was at the shipper getting loaded. furthermore i didnt make ANY left turns in that town while i was there, AND ive never run a red light in my life IN MY LIFE. so why the harassment? did i make you 2 minutes late for work cuz ur the idiot that decided to stay home and spank the monkey for an extra 20 minutes so now u have to drive 80 mph down the road to make it on time and because im driving leglay u have to cal and ##### about me?!

edit: i love how you dramatize the call too. 'i had to slam on my brakes ... and then i slide to a hault several inchs from a group of catholic school children by the sidewalk it was horrible omg the poor children that could have been hurt because of this incident!" or my fav 'i had to swerve' and... then you roled it over 8 times into a ditch and crawled away shortly before it exploded right? if the call was true, which it wasnt, why are you driving at a high rate of speed up to an intersection that a big truck is in? at what point did you think that slowing down might be a good idea before that 40 ton mass of metal and ruber blocking your path might be a hinderance to your foreward travel??? because typicly when something big and dangerous is in my line of travel normaly i slowdown before getting to the point where i have to 'slam on the brakes'

One thing I would do if that is a pic of your truck is take out the truck # in my pics you can not see the truck # in case some disgruntled poster doesn't like one of your post they can't call you in for something bogus.

LMAO... very well-put. How'd Roehl deal with the call about the left-turn cut-off with you being a new driver?

And thanks for the info about the CB.
