    I agree. On another unnamed forum it happened to a driver and he was fired by his company.

    thats my old truck, company gave me a new one and sold 6468 so its all good :)



    about the call in i got a written warning even thou 'they arent taking sides' bull line they gave me. i felt a lil hurt that they take the word of a pyschotic 4wheeler over a professional driver that went to a 6 month course. had 300 hours behind the wheel before he graduated with a 4.0 and student of the month, and wow-ed both trainers .... and they sided with a lunitic on wheels over me.

    writtin warning isnt much to worry about it will disapper in a couple months and ill be alright.

    It seems the only respondents to truckers' query as to why 4-wheelers habitually cut off the big trucks are significant-others who are married to a trucker. Thus, I shall take it upon myself to speak on behalf of 4-wheelers who rather be on other sites like TMZ or some porn site.

    It is quite elementary, 4-wheelers cut us off because they're ignorant of our need for longer braking distance, and the consequence of their actions. However, it is not their fault. Go to any state motor vehicle facility and peruse among the publications available to the motoring public. There is a lack/absence of effort to educate the motoring public that the practice of cutting off big trucks is detrimental to highway safety. I've concluded this upon observing that when I drive slow in my POV/4-wheeler (to save gas) everybody is cutting me off as they pass me and make a quick lane change in front of me. I'm guessing its a subtle message to let me know "you're driving too f**ng slow !!" On a few rare occasions, I've had some slow down as they get by me, rolled their window down, and hurled carefully-chosen disparaging remarks about my slow driving.

    Mind you, I'm driving 50-55 MPH on the farthest right lane on the freeways outside Los Angeles. It seems this behaviour is most prevalent in cities and suburban areas near a major city. I would guess that what causes drivers to be more aggressive in cities/suburban may be linked to population density. City people behave differently from small-town people. They seem to always be in a rush to get someplace. Rather than critisize and bad mouth these 4-wheelers, we should use a scientific approach and apply psychology to evaluate the causes of aggressive driving. Granted, ignorance and a lack of effort to educate the public on the hazards of cutting off big trucks is much needed. However, we truckers also have our failings. To react in anger/road rage after a 4-wheeler had cut us off is a detriment to our health and driving. When we lose control of our temper, we're more likely focused only on revenge/retribution to get back on the offending 4-wheeler instead of concentrating on safe driving. Our heartbeat and blood pressure increases, and we truckers only end up working ourselves towards a premature heart condition. A more logical response arfter a 4-wheeler had cut us off is to control our emotions, and presumed they had acted out of ignorance, not malice to force us to lock up our brakes and jack knife the rig.

    In conclusion, cooler heads shall prevail. When driving in cities/suburban areas, we should anticipate the errors of 4-wheelers and take evasive maneuvers and counter measures. Steer onto the right break-down lane to increase braking distance and avoid a rear-end collision. If this were not feasible, use stab-braking techniques to minimize a jack knife, concentrate on keeping the tractor-trailer in control so as to protect the safety of other motorist. The offending 4-wheeler would have to suffer a rear-end collision following their lane change into our path. They had failed to yield us the right-of-way and, unless theres a way to take evasive manuever of safely steering out of harms way, we must allow the laws of physics to take place, brace for impact, and concentrate on keeping the tractor-trailer from going into a jack knife so as to protect the safety of other motorist who are driving along side of us as the offending 4-wheeler moves to cut us off.

    I would advise that as well, even if it isn't actually your truck number. Whoever it belongs to doesn't need the aggravation.

    i would like to know in what section of the drivers lic. manual it tells 4 wheelers that a turn signal on a truck means to speed up (even when you are 100 feet behind the truck that is signaling)? and when are you 4 wheelers going to realize these trucks far out weigh your vehicle and cannot stop and go as quickly as you can?? and what does a YEILD sign mean????????:biggrin_25516::biggrin_2559:

    They MIGHT realize these things (but don't count on them being smart enough for that) when they tangle with a semi and LOOSE the battle because of the bigger weight and mass from a truck.

    I am not about to give them this easy of a pass. Any body that has been driving longer than 2 weeks SHOULD BE paying attention to whats going on around them, enough to begin learning some of these things.

    I think the problem is willful ignorance, willful arrogance, and willful disregard for others safety their own safety and willful disregard for existing traffic laws. You see 4 wheelers break the speed limit by 10 to 30 over on a regular basis, running red lights and stop signs, and an abundance of other traffic laws.

    Even if they had training and info on trucks you can bet they wouldn't pay any more attention to that than they do the other traffic laws they break on a continual basis.

    Passingtrucker -- the most likely reason that the only respondents to this query is that it is posted on a TRUCKERS' forum. I am one of the few four-wheelers here, and I have previously stated (and probably numerous times) that posts like this fry my beans... so I opted not to get into my rant again.

    But, since you want a four-wheeler's answer, I'll tell ya'. THIS four-wheeler does NOT cut off truckers. I know better; it's simple physics... and I ain't tanglin' with anything going 65 mph and weighing possibly 80,000 lbs... and it frustrates me that truckers are so willing to lump all us "idiot four-wheelers" together, and yet get defensive when four-wheelers come here complaining about truckers being rude or ignorant. But I understand this is a truckers' forum, and I'm going to have to eat some crow for my fellow four-wheelers sometimes.

    But please, all us four-wheelers aren't bad guys... just as all you drivers aren't ignorant, rude, and reeking of a week's worth of body odor... and I think we all recognize that. What else can I say?

    Me neither. I found that most of such people are often in a multi-tasking world of their own, who feel that their needs supercede everybody elses.
