Pathetic, isn't it? Sigh... I've started calling them four-wheelers, too... rofl...

a loaded truck can run better in the snow than a car probably can.(depending on conditions) It doesn't mean we shouldn't be safe about it. What's wrong with a truck passing you if you're moving slower? As long as he's not doing anything to create a hazard. Truck drivers look way ahead and can see much farther down the road simply because we sit higher. So we can see ahead of time when we'll have to slow down and act accordingly. No, we cannot stop faster but we can see far ahead and start slowing down as necessary. It's a different story in heavy traffic where extra caution is obviously needed.

I am a 4 wheeler, I used to go on trips with my Dad on his 18 wheeler & saw things way back then, years ago. But now, the things I see are unbelievable...it's much worse now & I think 4 wheelers should have to take a class to learn about 18 wheelers. Maybe they'll be more considerate around the big rigs, or atleast think about their lives before doing something so stupid & irresponsible.:biggrin_25511:

I have the most respect for the big rigs, and yes, I help them out on the highways if I can. Anything I can do to make it easier for them, I'll do. I remember going on trips with my Dad & observed very closely...at the 4's & 18 wheelers.

Definately 3 and counting. It would make the roads alot safer if people who are either just ignorant or know nothing about the big rigs to learn about them & respect those great 18 wheelers for the jobs they do.
I know not all truckers are good ones, but most of them are. :yes2557:
Kudos to all of you, and to my Dad...

sense !! there should be mandatory 18 wheeler education for anyone that wants to drive any kind of vehicle. of course it won't happen, but you're at the top of the list with that idea !

I completely agree with you, but like you said, it won't happen. It would be so nice if it did though...I'd volunteer to teach that class!!! :biggrin_25520:
