I am amazed how angry you guys are about what that guy said. There are a few things I would like to say but certainly not all I'd like to say.I think you should call it like it is!Certainly there are some good reasons for some of the situations but mostly it is just how some people choose to live. Before you get all defensive on me maybe give this some thought........How do you like knowing the guy that just came out of the crapper and didn't have time to wash his hands is now beside you at that nice buffet using the same serving spoons you and everyone else is supposed to use? This happens alot but maybe he has an excuse he has just worked too many hours or is in a hurry or he just got up and and isn't thinking clear...right?How about those nice bottles laying all over the truckstop parking lot (it's not apple juice) what the he-- is that all about?...are they to tired to empty them or at least throw them into the garbage can?The really nice guys empty them or themselves at the feul pump...makes for a nice smell after a rain but I suppose in thier minds that rain is supposed to clean it up and then as they are going inside to pay for the fuel they have to empty thier coffee mug all over the parking lot so we can walk through that too.If it was just one or two people doing that....but multiply that buy a 100.Why do you think alot of shopping chains do not want trucks parking overnight in thier parking lots?It is because of the the things they do and the crapp that these ignorant drivers leave behind.I've seen how some of you guys keep the inside of your trucks,it is no wonder you smell when you get out of them.I've seen trucks 3/4 months old so nasty inside they have to be professionaly cleaned and it wasn't from the drivers being overworked either! My conclusion it is just lack of respect for the equipment, people around them and even themselves.

There is a difference between running hard all night, and complete lack of cleanliness. Guys who showers one morning, loads a flatbed, tarps, in Phoenix heat, passes up the T/S because he has to be in dallas the next morning, untarp, then stand in front of this guy are still gonna smell better than some of the nasty drivers who think they are allergic to water.

Hunter'sbath. Rubbing alcohol and washrag, 3 minutes. Deo. Electric razor.
Johnson's Medicated Baby powder in your shoes and you still smell freshie two days later.
Nobody has any excuse. -
Hunters bath. Never heard of that one before.

It's actually called something familiar with the term for lot lizards, but of course that's one of the banned words in here...so I used the more polite epitaph, "Hunter", since they do it too.
All I know is it works. -
Point of the question, as I understood it was why do some drivers look so nasty when you see them in the truck stop? I can understand how this might happen at times, but look at the average truck stop clientele. The vast majority of the folks inside will be relatively clean. However, there are some who look as though the last time they had soap and water on them was 3 years ago. I will give exception to some --very few that is. When I worked in Alaska, I worked with a man who could shower and 30 minutes later, you'd think you were next to an outhouse. His body chemistry was the cause of this.
Bottom line, there is absolutely no excuse not to shower at least every other day!
I never said it was okay for men to wear their hats indoors. Only time I can think of where it would not bother me is if I'm at a costume party, or participating in or watching a rodeo (yeah the one with horses and cows). Some of these events require some type of headgear. -

Heheheh...you're more clever than I was, notarps!
Kurbski: the alcohol doesn't remove dirt as well as soap and water. But it does kill bacteria, and that is what makest thou stinketh, verily. I actually don't sweat much, so I take a shower BEFORE going to any public gym: just not to offend. I get pints of the alcohol from the dollar stores for .50-1.00 ea. -
So whats so wrong with wearing a hat indoors, its been filtered out of old times and old religions with the new generations. I mean its just a hat, piece of fabric on your melon. The only time I dont wear a hat is in a church, or prayer or at a game where the national anthem is played. I really dont see a problem or moral thing with wearing a hat indoors, but it just might be me and that im young yet.
