I am trying to get my CDL so I can team drive with my husband. We obviously, are trying to make this as seamless as possible. He already has his CDL A and dorver 5 years ago. The only company we can find to help us is Schneider, however they are very wishy washy about being able to find me a female trainer to do the over the road training part. Anyone know of the availability of female OTR trainers? Or any better schools out there?

What is your location @Chinatown can be of some assistance I'm sure!

Um, if your husband is already driving, why not just hook a ride with him.( if allowed) You'll get all the experience, and then some, stuff you'll never learn in school.
Note: there are very few, if any, female trainers for obvious reasons. Some of the men they train are pigs.Team R Drivers and Lonesome Thank this. -
There are few woomen trainers. SOME women decide to train with a man NOW rather than wait some indeterminate period to get a female trainer. I have never heard of any company with more than just a few.

CFI - www.cfidrive.com is female friendly and probably can help you. Can probably team you with your husband after you finish training and can probably run him through a refresher course. This company has a very good reputation overall.

We have gone over a lot of schools, and there is a local one here which would make my life easier, but I dont have the 4K so I will likely have to go to Schneider. I am stressed about being apart for 5 weeks, since we are newlyweds. I suppose I am overreacting, but I was formerly a social worker in a nursing home... this entire experience is new for me. Thanks for all the advice everyone.
