I’d like to polish up my wheels this summer but had some questions. If you can see in the picture, I have some pretty deep rock chips. Can these be sanded out? If so what should I start with? Would starting with a scotch pad be best?
Also what is the best thing to use sanding the inside of rims with a dish like this? The videos I’ve seen show guys just using an orbital sander, but I don’t see how you could get to the part the arrow is pointing to.

You might want to get them professionally done the first time around. It is kind of expensive but well worth the money. From then on thy are a lot easier to do yourself.

I use a flap wheel to get into tough areas, orbital sander on everything else. You would be surprised how well an orbital gets into some spots.

If there’s a lot of chips and oxidation, start with 80-100 grit, then work your way up.

    Think I used 100 then 180, 320, 600 and 800 when I did mine last.

Then polish with rouge on a cutting or buffing wheel.

It sounds great to DIY, but it’s time consuming.
