The DC will determine the orientation date. It is determined by when all of the new hires paperwork all comes through. Sometimes it is fast, sometimes it is not. He will get a call.

You are pretty safe to figure first year income at $75-80K. Depending on location, it could be substantially more, but I could never imagine it being less. However, WM will not guarantee an income for proof of income purposes. I am sure you can find a nice rental that would be willing to rent to you if you gave them a larger deposit, or something like that. Again, I don't know the area you are dealing with.

I know that moving sucks. However, it is all for the good, so it is not such a bad thing. Luckily for us, we were "only" 120 miles from the DC. We live where we want to live as he only has to drive to work once a week.

    Good luck to you. :)

Hey guys, well it looks like being a "Wally wife" is put on hold. My husband did not pass the Pre-trip inspection, obviously Walmart is very strict when it comes to this part and by the book. When you've been driving for a while you learn "bad habits". Have you all heard of them giving you a second chance to be hired after waiting the year to reapply? I'm disappointed for him, because he wanted it so bad, I know he's a great driver though so the time will come for him. Any tips? Advice?

Yep. After a year he is good.

If it makes him feel any better, a LOT of current WM drivers did not make it on their first try..................... including my husband. He can take this extra time to brush up on "by the book" pre trip inspections, and will fly through it next time. Plus, now he knows how it works.

Good luck to you folks. :)

That makes me feel a whole lot better! He was really disappointed in himself so I hope he gets a chance to redeem himself. He's going to get the book and be practicing and studying. Thanks!

Just wanted to update and say a special thanks to Wally Wife for all the help. As of this coming Monday, I will be an official "Wally Wife" too!! We just made the move, 39 miles from the DC (during a holiday week no less!) and hubs starts orientation on Monday. New job, new home, new opportunities. We are very excited.

How wonderful, scary, and exciting all at the same time. Hearty congrats to you and your family. Enjoy the ride. Be prepared for your hubby to have info overload the first week. Once he goes out with his mentor, it will all come together.

Just remember, you can't take my name. LOL However, ForeverAWallyWife looks good. :D

Hello! I'm hopeful I will be joining your ranks soon, as my husband passed the road test and physical today and took his drug test which he's not worried about. Now it's just the background and employment checks! He got his conditional offer so we are "conditionally" excited! He's trying to not get too excited, just in case, but it seems to me that it should be in bag. I've read on here that insurance benefits vary among D.C.s, but is there any kind of average? Any on the off chance, is there anyone on here who knows anything about the Grove City, OH D.C.?

My husband works out of a different DC but spends some time at the grove location. You can PM me with any questions you have. Congratulations! My husband loves it and makes great money there.

Thank you so much! I clicked on your profile to message you but it says you limit who can see your profile. When I tried to start a conversation, it won't let me until I've made 6 posts, haha, I guess I'll poke around here and try to make a few more!
