I tried to post earlier and made a mess of it so I'll try again. First of all thank you IP and silent on all the advice and insight you have given. I have found your posts helpful especially the one on leasing. I drove for about 9 months for schnieder about six years ago. I have chosen to go to prime. I no longer hold a cdl, and i understand that even with experience i would have to go through all the training to include with a tnt is that true. As my name suggests i live in Texas and el be going for training in Missouri. Do i have to wait to obtain my permit since I'll be testing in Missouri. I understand one I'm done i have to transfer the cdl for my state that i live. I have been studying air brakes, combination, and combination, and general knowledge in knot Texas book. I assume the information is pretty much the same. Is b there anything else i can do to be ahead. My last question is as a l/o can i take my kid with if she is under 12 i do believe that success is based on the effort you put in. Not the company or the trainer. It is the John you choose it is up to to make effort. It ain't no vacation i know that. I don't buy into all these people blaming every once else but the person truly responsible SELF.

I don't intend on jumping right into a lease. I want to re wet my feet and adjust to any changes in the industry before i make that move. But i have decided that prime is where i want to be after much personal debate and research.

Get your permit up front. It makes things easier once you start training.

Thank you so much so my permit is from Texas can be used in Missouri for iwasn't for sure. Just want to let you know in find your post helpful especially on the leasing. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge with others.

Spend some time on the company side, and get it all figured out... especially if Prime is a good long-term fit for you before you tie yourself down with a lease. Make sure you get enough cash in the bank to survive a couple of weeks of enforced down-time, and make sure you can support your lifestyle on the kind of cash you can pay yourself. Remember... leasing isn't employment on steroids. You're running a business, and you're the employee.

Is there anything you recommend i bring for training that i would find useful that people don't think about. Other than communication and understanding company and trainer expectations and communicating my training expectations that i can do to better myself during training. How bout other than studying is there anything i can do before getting there to maximize my experience.

Lol well you answered that before i asked. I have read your thread on leasing and believe I'm following your advice. People who are successful late from the success and failures of others. I have read your post many times and defiantly will take advantage of your knowledge thanks again

It's hard without a truck to practice on, but learning the pretrip procedure is helpful. Bring shower clogs if you don't want terminal athelete's foot from truckstop showers. Pack light... extra underwear and socks, and use soft-sided luggage - a duffle bag is ideal. There's a packing list pinned to the top of the new drivers folder on TTR.

Ok n thanks for your time. I didn't even think about shower slides. I still check out the list at prime. Thanks again. Drive safe shiny side up lol
