Working harder isn't an option in your situation. Unless you intend to buy your own truck and get your own authority.
That's your only option at this time. Don't let some $$$ grubbing clown at a truck driver "training" faciity screw you into signing your life away. Because he doens't give a rats ### about your record, or whether you can get a job.
He cares about HIS paycheck.
You would be wasting your time and money in this economy. Companies are cherry picking their drivers....and guess what end of the list you are on?

Aggravated vehicle assault? I'd defiantly wouldn't hire you ever.... 80,000 pounds will & can do a lot of damage.
Buddy, you better give in... Because you ain't got no chance in hell. -
Not sure this will answer your question, but it may give you some insight regarding the chances of getting hired.
I had one speeding ticket in 26 years, got it in March 2009. I was going 81 in a 70 MPH zone. I was turned down by Werner, USA and US Express. The only one I got any information from was Werner and they said if it had been 10 MPH or less they could work with me, otherwise the ticket would have had to be 3 years or older. The others only said it was because of the ticket, no other information.

With that kind of MVR you are actually considering asking a company to pay you to operate their commercial vehicle, and do it in a safe manner ?
Your MVR shows disregard for the driving public and others personal property. I guess #1 in 2001 wasn't good enough so you had to have an "accident" added to it in 2004. -
anybody with a DUI shouldnt have a job driving period

I have 3 years experience, a perfect mvr, a perfect safety record, and all 3 years with same company. I HAD A HARD time getting into a trucking company. Like the others say. Don't listen to a recruiter. A recruiter is someone who takes calls from their living room, or an office that will tell you the sky is purple and you can drive a truck even if you're Charles Manson. They get a "bonus" if you make it. They don't tell you about the drug tests, the classroom, the background check, the mvr record and all the stuff that will stop you dead in your tracks. You have one of those MVRs. I wish it were better news, but I don't think Dominos would even let you haul pizzas from door to door! Good luck in your future. You do need to check into some sort of rehabilitation program that can go on your record as showing an effort to right your wrongs. You have done it twice. Not good. Not good.

I am a bit uneasy about the question "Not even an OTR driver"? What does that mean? That to be a "good" truck driver you have to be local? OTR drivers are the ones that have to have a clean record. You are in and out of cities/towns/villages all the time and you need to be on the alert at all times. I resent that you refer to us OTR drivers as the "lesser" quality driver. A local, dedicated driver has it easy. They go from point A, to point B, sometimes C. Go back, do the same thing again tomorrow. Usually at home with the family at night. Nice picture but not the hard part. Most of these guys get these jobs from years of OTR driving. I admire them. I don't wish to be one of them, but I do admire them. An OTR driver has to learn new roads, new customers, new drop yards, new everything all the time. You have to be able to adapt to different climates, weather conditions, traffic conditions, etc... it's not like an OTR driver is the dog of the truckin world. So please don't refer to us as "Not even an OTR" driver.
