NowNow Miss Lori, dont lower yourself to his level(basement) and explain we OTR's. We ALL thankyou BUT, we are the cream of the crop and you and I both know it. We're hardworking, drive hours outta this world, put up with bull that is SO far from the "lower" echelons of "Door-to-Door cold pizza" delivery truck drivers that ONLY a puuure jealous person would mention that comment. Do I look down on the EX-OTR's that now deliver day-to-day and home every night?...HECK NO. Those retired from OTR have my respect because they "been there and done that". Maybe that person has been confused all their life cause they couldnt understand why we are called 18 wheelers when the 5th wheel made us 19....dunno...could be wrong....ignore him..... and all OTR's, keep on a rollin........just dont wink at one of daughters.......because "the object in your mirror is closer than what you think....ME:biggrin_25525:

I would suggest looking into another career field as class a driving doesnt sound like it something you should do. There are all ready enough dangerous factors to this job. The responsibilities of driving a class a vehicle, are life and death issues. If its as you stated , your past numerous dui's tell me one thing: This isn't a good career or lifestyle for you.

Sorry if my honesty is too harsh, but being under the influence while driving one of the big girls is plain and simply stupid and I would definately as sure as I am others feel the same we would rather you didnt put us or ours in harms way.

I don't know of any company that would even consider your application seriously , 10 years into your past doesn't by your own words instill confidence in your ability to do this job . SAFETY IS THE # 1 PRIORITY ! Your mutliple dui"s will have to be at least at least 10 yrs behind you, most companies would consider this a major liability.

Clean up the driving record and drinking then come ask your questions about your :biggrin_25513: probality of being hired to drive

i can tell you , you are wasting your time. trucking companies dig deep into your past. you won't get hired by anyone....while i'm here though i have a totally different question and can't seem to find the answer anywehre. I'm about 2 weeks away from hopefully being hired and was wondering about the whole "bring your truck home" deal. do you typically bring the tractor and a trailer home or just the tractor? i can fit a tractor in the driveway but not a trailor. if you do bring the trailer too then who do you ask about leaving in a parking lot? thanks in advance for the response.
