Questions regarding FFE or others if you have answers

Ok, so I've been researching CDL training. Ready to hit the road as an OTR driver.

I am looking for a company that allows pets. Seems each company's pet policies change as quick as the wind. This is a concern since I have no option but to bring my dog since I am single and he IS my responsibility. Not to mention he loves the road as much as I do. Now I am aware of the need to secure his needs for the 9+ weeks I'll be away for training. From what I've seen on the various trucking forum sites some truckers frown on the dog issue but I am a clean and responsible pet owner. I take pride in taking care of what is my responsibility.

I spoke with an FFE recruiter and quite the contrary to many posts he did NOT try to sell me one iota. He simply answered all my questions and was very helpful.

This is what I got from him:

- 21 days CDL course at Fort Worth, TX.
- Provide Bus ticket to TX.
- Transferred to local Country Inns and Suite will require $20 cab fair to Hotel
reimbursed on first check.
- At training facility shared room with 1 other.
- Free Lodging for 21 days while training for CDL.
- Fees to pay for $70 Texas CDL fee. $20-40 transfer CDL to GA fee. $20 cab to hotel..
- I must provide personal expense for food for 18 days.
- 3 days hotel, meals paid for during Orientation after initial CDL training before hitting the road with trainer.
- OTR Trainer for 6 weeks after school at $455/wk.
- Solo OTR driver start at .29 6/mo to .30 6/mo to .31 6/mo on out...
- Expenses: personal care only, all truck expenses paid for by FFE.
- Pet Policy: YES, 50 lbs weight limit deduct .01 a mile.

Questions

1. Do I need to transfer CDL to home state? What if I'm ending apt. lease and will have no permanent address? Can you use FFE address and keep CDL in TX?

2. Anyone familiar with their rigs? Are they acceptable?

3. What's the average mileage per week potential?

4. Any professional opinions on FFE and working a 1 year contract with them?

5. Any other carrier recommendations (that allow a dog)?

6. Any suggestions for questions I should ask the recruiter before deciding?
