Questions to ask recuriters?

Do the trucks have driver facing cameras and sound monitoring technology inside the tractor?
If the answer is "Yes", then hang up and keep looking.
If the answer is "No", then say, "I think I love you, buy me drink."

 

The first thing you should do is to talk to a company that doesn't have recruiters. Much better chance of working for a quality company that way.

 

You might want to ask if they have dispatch 24/7 365. Nothing worse than calling in to find out dispatch goes home at 5PM local time on Fri. "and wont be back 'till 8AM on Mon., kin I hep ya?"

 

Do they have forced dispatch? Has the recruiter ever been a driver? What is their driver turnover rate? Explain your pay rate... how much is hazmat, safety and over x miles this month pay? Is orientation paid? Describe your newbie equipment. What amenities do you include... cb, fridge, inverter, apu, etc. What type of discount for cell phone, hotel etc? Can I talk to some of your current drivers?

Ask anything and everything you can think of. Then ask him to put it all in writing.

Pick a few companies that you would work for,do a lot of research and talk to the drivers from that company ...take the good and and bad ..almost like a yelp review and you will create your own list that suits you
