Been OTR for a few weeks now. These are just random thoughts I have:

    1. It is a tough lifestyle, I don't know how some people do it. I can endure some pretty brutal things, but this is getting close to my limit.
    2. Backing takes some serious skills, I have more respect for truckers now just watching them park in tiny spaces with precise control.
    3. Are those $30 food cookers at Pilot/TA/Loves any good? I want to cook eggs in the truck.
    4. I think I would prefer a Peterbilt over a freightliner, Volvo, and international.
    5. How do u eat healthy? Is $70 a week for food overspending?
    6. Driving on highways are so boring.
    7. I think I prefer driving in the west better. The east coast roads are not for trucks.
    8. Do office people type in typos on the Qualcomm on purpose? And someone needs to reinvent a better Qualcomm system.
    9. I MISS HOME. I miss my pets, I miss home cooked meals, I miss the couch, I miss the wide open living room.
    10. Trucking is tough, I don't like it enough to stay OTR. I'm gonna look for local routes and be home everyday.

You forgot to comment on the showers and bathrooms. Lmao... Good post.

I'm suprised that truckers are getting paid ####. What makes all of this worse is every single person knows there being shafted. But as a group or as a team of truckers they do absolutely nothing about it. Mostly because they have kids and family back home that need there support and money. Even know the money absolutely sucks.

I put it to people like this. ITS A JAIL FOR YOUR MIND... TRUCKING OTR... IS A JAIL... WANT TO GO TRUCKING SURE... LINE UP AND HERE IS YOUR COVERALLS NOW GIVE ME EVERYTHING YOU OWN BECAUSE YOU WONT NEED IT ALONG THE WAY. We will hold on to that for you. Because where you are going. You don't deserve it.

I to seen things and have been woken up by the experience now that I am back home and loosing everything again I am thinking about going back out to the #### life... JAIL CELL of a truck...

Just to pay my ####### rent.

    Thanks,
    -C

Good luck on the local; local isn't for everyone. I tried it for a couple of weeks and hated it. Some love it. I like the long haul 48 states running coast to coast. Best wishes on whatever decision you make.

When I got out there, I was surprised at how much I missed my cat. I spent many long drives thinking about if it would be possible to train a cat to live in a truck. I"m pretty sure it isn't, but I can dream.

Many truckers have cats travel with them. Friend of mine has 3 in the truck.

I just might try the pet thing; maybe try adopting a homeless one from a cat house. I've noticed the better ones have truck parking.

I'm getting a shiba inu and can't wait to have her when I get back out there. Local work isn't all it's cracked up to be. Well for me atleast, the open road is calling me back.

So only a few weeks exp?Better make sure you have a local job before quitting this one.OTR is'nt for everyone.I did it for 8 yrs and liked it.Main reason I went local is because my mom was sick.I plan on going back OTR in the near future. This time maybe team if I can find a company that pays better then a sad wage.

Sorry you feel that way but I see you are still new and probably still making crap pay. Get experience and work for a more reputable company and see if your tune changes. Personally I can say I do not feel l am in a jail. It is quite the opposite, you see, In an office or warehouse everyday I would feel as I was in a prison. Out here by myself, no one breathing down my neck, Is by far one of the best feelings about the job.
