How is this going to work for people like me who use our truck f450 for work and also personal?

Probably just log out of it and roll on. Especially if empty and no trailer. I guess there could be a time when you might want to pull a loaded trailer when your off duty. Such as I do with my side by side. Or moving. Or just whatever. Not sure how those times would play into it.

Buy another truck for personal use, that's what it will eventually come to.

Probably want to find out about Personal Conveyance. Not a rule yet, at this point it is only an advisory, it would be Line 5, Off Duty driving.

Yep. I use off duty driving with the e-log occasionally. It is a legit option when used within the FMCSA guidance. I have even been checked by LEO one time while using off duty driving and there was no problem and no hassle. Once I drop a trailer and am on my own time with nothing related to commercial use, I use off duty driving to head on home. Same for when I return. My tractor basically is a big personal vehicle if it is not being used in any commercial capacity.
