Well, that probably would have been best, after all, just another P test, however it goes with the "guilty until proven innocent" and I'm not sure I'd give the old boss the time of day. Clearly a low blow.
Quit job, called for a random, refused it, now shows a refusal.

Would you rather be right.... or unemployable?

I’ve applied to driving jobs. I think my record is 3 pee tests in one day. Anyway, there were a couple times I’d be just about done onboarding and another company that was moving forward would want me to take a UA.
knowing about refusals, I always took them anyway. I’m going to chime in here, despite it not being helpful for the OP: unless I am out of their truck, off their yard, off their payroll, and they’re 100% out of my life, I just go take the test. It’s a pain but less than if it pops up on the clearinghouse.
There are some specific details missing here that would really make or break this situation regarding having a case in the legal realm. Talk to a lawyer, it may very well be retaliatory but it’s not so cut and dry of a situation. There is nothing illegal about having a random popping up on your last day of work. So you’d have to prove it was retaliatory.
legality aside, this is obviously messed up. So tired of all the loopholes employers can just jump through in the regulations to screw drivers over. Non-compete agreements, 1099 employment, hireright, DAC, etc… I have friends who are professionals in all types of fields and have never seen such consistent and apparent abuse of workers.
It’s unfortunate the only time truckers want to strike out nationally seems to be when they’re Canadian and their employers want them to get vaccinated. Lol.
