I'm with altom they took out our ez tags in Houston replaced them with new ez pass about a year ago. They told us it covered all. I have been thru every toll road except Florida.

So with the split pay, it will average what, .47, .46 cpm? I never understood the loaded vs empty pay. If ypu do alpt of deadheading, it really drops youre average

I averaged about .67 cpm when you add in all the accessory and layover pay.

Does anybody have a Mack where the receptacles actually work? I've been in 3 trucks last few weeks due to mechanicals and 2 of the Macks I was in have non op receptacles. Also it seems like it takes a special handshake to obtain the QC mounts for the Macks. They all break but no replacement seems to be provided.

Ethos, best of luck. I've been here a few months and it's been two steps forward, one step back kinda experience. I think I'm on the back side of the problems now but honestly as much praise I see for Superior here I was surprised at some of the issues I have come across with them. I will say the pay has been more than fair but money is not everything.

    Onwards and upwards though.

End of week wrap-up. Been a fairly sporadic week. I don't feel the plan is very thorough but that could be because I came in at an odd time or maybe it's because they don't get a lot of guys like me. I did a short local run with a trainer on Tuesday and virtually nothing on Wednesday. Thursday I did a run with a trainer to Laredo. We stayed in a hotel and came back today and I'm released to the fleet. So yeah, that's about it. It seemed ad hoc. There is another guy going through training but he's a rookie and we haven't been together since day one. He seems like he is getting trained. From the talk I hear, it seems that the rookies go through some fairly intense training.

What I think happened with me is that they had to go through the motions. They had to show some training for some period of time. Nothing was bad, just kinda pointless.

Some more initial thoughts. Superior LOVES paper work! They have a form for everything. It's simple really, just lots of it. Trimac has virtually no forms so it's different.
The truck I drove to Laredo was a Pete 579 and I have to say that it is the nicest truck I have ever driven. Just a wonderful vehicle, the visibility is amazing and it is well designed.
Superior seems like a company that demands flexibility. Seems like the drivers do what is needed and when. Works for me.

My truck is expected in sometime next week. In the meantime I'm hoping in a Pro-Star and doing some local or out and back runs. Not very excited about this but I get it. I'm just ready to truly get going and to me that means a permanent truck.

Do you mean the power outlets? those are hooked up to your shore power. Underneath your door theres two plugs, one for block heater one for shore power. The other option would be for you to get an inverter and ask to have it wired in.

L.w. runs the 579 with the ISX . Mechanically, the truck is awesome. Turns like a barge, but awesome . Nothing but electrical issues with it though
