I never understood why there was a seperate line for sleeper. I can understand the distinction between On Duty and Off Duty, and the distinction between On Duty Driving vs On Duty Not Driving. But Off Duty is off duty. It doesn't matter if I'm in the sleeper or under the catwalk. I'M OFF DUTY and no one's business. If DOT wants to know if I'm sleeping or not, then they need regs for that.. and a line that isn't labelled sleeper. They're not the same thing.
Quiz for those just learning logs, is this legal?

I didn't read all 10 pages of comments so I don't know if this was mentioned but on my glance at it I would say as it is that log is not legal...It's not signed. In order to be legal it has to be a signed document. The white out is legal as on the front it says that you confirmn that the log is true and correct. Should you make a mistake, and we are all human and have drawn the line a little too far by mistake, you are bound by law to correct it and make it true.
That's just my admittedly noob assessment. -
The short version is that the logged time itself is legal, but if a tightly wound LEO wanted to, a number of "General Form & Manner" violations could get handed down for it.
tinytim Thanks this. -
I start orientation next week in FB after an 8 week CD Lschool. I say legal but a couple mistakes made.
