I hope things get better for you rizen and I'm sure you'll find many options in bay area but only drawback is high cost of living there. Viva La Rizen!

Well, I pulled the plug a week ago today after it looked like i was going to sit for the 3rd weekend in a row without miles. I'm done with OTR. Looks like we are most likely moving back to Ben Lomond and I'm going to work for Santa Cruz Transit on the weekends and go back to school. I've got two years done already and have a 3.5 gpa. Seems like a waste not to finish and get a degree.

    Sounds like a plan.

What type of degree are you looking at? Stay away from Ceramics & Basket Weaving et al (which are Cal-Berkley tuition $$$ makers)...look for something that is in demand these days.

BTW, I like to watch "Wild Justice" which is about Fish & Game in N. CA.....busting poachers, wilderness pot growers, & rescuing wildlife, inland around the Shasta area as well as along the CA coast (busting abalone poachers, etc). Job is outdoors, & helping CA's wildlife pop. You're probably still 'young enuf' to qualify. Need to be in some kind of shape tho and dont know if your past health probs would be a problem? Just a thought ....

Also, dont forget the Knight threads as 'alumni,' having graduated from their school of hard knocks..[IMG]

BFA in photography w/ minor in journalism.

I see a project about the meat grinder that is OTR truck driving. I think an in depth look at fleece/purchase would make a great expose.

Sounds interesting. Could go many places, plus a chance to work for yourself which is the only way to live life!! Dont want to go from a steering wheel monkey to just a desk jockey in another big co.

Yeah, as an Express driver for Knight, I started my time out several times in trucks at Phx that were turned in by their o/o's who couldnt get enuf 'promised' miles to make payments to Knight They got their drivers 'coming & going' both ways in making money off of them..(including Knight's insurance & Knight's shop maint, etc)

    Good luck....
