Pay is the same for reefer or dry van, If you don't mind being stuck away from home for long periods of time going OTR will make you about the same as regional. It can be hard to get loaded back home if you get to far away.

    SkyDriver Thanks this.

Thanks for the reply, not much at home to keep me here, my kid is grown and on her own now, wife passed back in 1999. What the heck, may as well live in a truck, travel the states. Sucks to be me.

I see they keep you moving and you keep you coming to my neck of the woods. I talked to recruiting after filling out the paperwork, but they were no help so I will go a different route. Also if you have to go to Eastern Washington watch out for the wild fires we have a couple big ones right now. Specially the one between Cle Elum and Ellensburg. It is along HWY 97 and I-90 seems to be okay.
Any word on your wife's training yet?

Most likely will be out with a trainer the beginning of next week.

Sitting at Sears in Tukwila getting unloaded. They revised the streets since the directions where written. Can't make the first left in the directions anymore. Well you can if you want to take out the two foot concrete divider.

Just wait until you come back the next time there will some fighting marks on that barrier. We have a Home Depot in my town and trucks always miss the truck entrance and try to get in of the round about. They finally stopped replacing the tree on the corner and the bollards all look like the leaning tower of Pisa. Also good to hear about the wife and hopefully they will get her going.

You'll love this one, some night driver tried to go thru the round about at the Portland IKEA and wound up dragging a boulder out onto I205. Don't believe me either, the story is post in the truck accident news section of this forum.

For today I did a local Sam's club from Tocoma to Renton for 38 bucks plus mileage after I got done at Sears. Then had to find another empty because they didn't have the hook part of the drop and hook in Renton. Grab an empty back in Tukwila then had a preplan but while doing a walk around of my new empty the trailer was fine but I had a flat drive thanks to a bolt. Got sent to the TA to get it changed and was out of hours at that point. Picking up Tocoma to the bay area at midnight delivering early saturday.

Well picked up my load last night and it was 900lbs over on the tandems for california, took it back and they just called me to tell me it was ready, said good be there at 1500 to get it so that way I have a fresh 14. They only took 7 hours to rework it.
