I had a step deck and an RGN in SoCal this week. Got the step deck outta there for peanuts and the RGN is stuck like Chuck. Can't dial the phone fast enough if a load posts on a load board and brokers are scratching their heads. Even in the worst days of 2008 and 2009 it was much better than this! It was almost as bad in Texas and even in Baltimore. Anyone else experiencing this? If trends start in the west and move east I'm gonna pull the blanket over my head and hide!

Going to Nc. for a ld. going to Seattle. Hopefully work out of there when we del.
Rates in Baltimore were just plain stupid on rgn. freight.

The California truck is a 6 axle and is still sitting. I finally got suckered into booking a load outta Baltimore to... Long Beach! Someone once told me that insanity is the inability to learn from experience. :biggrin_25521: I think I need to go to Freight ###### Anonymous because I can never resist a good rate no matter where it's going! At least I very rarely haul cheap freight.

Do not tell me it was the C.H. load....
They called me yesterday about it and I turned them down. Then an hour later they call me again about it.
Told them no you can not afford me going to Ca.

Rgn loads and rates are in the toilet right now. My trailer dealer told me they can not even get 1 because there selling so fast. It will be a race to the bottom as all the van and flat guys that where getting $2 a mile will think $2.50 for a rgn is great. Every tom, dick and harry in my area has started running rgns lately and the rates are showing. Just got a call a move a Cat skidder 20k, 10 wide 350 miles told her $1,600. price includes permits for 2 states, she said i have a guy that will do it for a grand including permits, i said then you should call the idiot back fast.

You'd think the Bottom-feeders would eventually die out.....But like STD's.....There's always a new crop of idiots who despite the warnings....Will always get the "Clap"......Same goes with the Bottom-feeders.....I think most of them just don't use their heads......

I didn't feel that things were out of the ordinary last week. Outside the Midwest we had 3 trucks in Maine, a couple in Georgia, a Miami, several NY, several Baltimore. 50% were covered with normal customer loads, but I didn't feel the spot markets were terrible. Plus my backhaul guru was out all week. I am concerned about the economy, but I haven't seen a slow down yet.
