NJ's overtime law is time and a half after 40. R&L are advertising starting rate of $28.50 out of Newark, NJ...Is this too good to be true or will they probably only dish out 40 hours. Anyone from NJ can chime in?

Exempt federally, but state law I believe is a different story.

Toyota and Raymond et al have payment plans on electric jacks. No need to lay out thousands of dollars all at once

R&l is a 3rd rate company, why would you pay for tools that are supplied to the driver by every other company

It's just a money issue. Judging a company based only on that would be akin to judging a company based solely on the sign on bonus.

Personally I like having my own tools. Something like that wouldn't bother me, it would just be another factor to consider in the value of the compensation package.

Not to mention R&L doesn’t seem to have the micromanagement issues that plague other companies. That alone counts for quite a bit.

old thread but figured I'd try and revive it. Looking at Portland, OR area and it shows city drivers starting at $29.04 an hour, and linehaul drivers starting at top pay, whatever that may be
