R&L carriers..

pay is good compared to truckload otr carriers, around here its 23 and change for local p&d drivers, and i think the linehaul drivers get a set trip rate every night. i think pay varies with what area you live in, as well.

don't worry about mileage, they are ltl, you are either on the clock when running local, or if you are linehaul, you get a set rate per run anyway.

home every night, or, every day if you are linehaul. if not, hotel time.

bc/bs insurance, decent price.

bad points. no OT, period. ever. no 401k match, it was suspended a couple of years ago, and has not come back.

compared to truckload over the road, its a good job. compared to other ltl freight companies, they are not the best, but there are a lot worse out there.
