I have a T680 with a DEA500 radio with Bluetooth. I listen to music or podcasts from my phone using Bluetooth. Every time I turn the truck off or disconnect my phone from the Bluetooth the radio automatically switches to WX or FM and it stays at whatever the volume was set at on the Bluetooth channel. So usually it's just static. So every time I'm listening to music pretty loud if I turn off the truck when I turn it back on it blasts static through the speakers and I have to turn it down. Is this just a design flaw of the radio or is there a way to avoid this besides turning down the volume every time I turn off the truck? It's not only annoying but I'm pretty sure it could blow the #### speakers if it keeps doing that.
Radio blasting static every time I turn the truck off or back on

The radio in the T680 is a POS. The engineer who signed off on the controls should be fired.

Case ground. Turn off

I don't think there is a problem with the radio, but as JC1971 said, it's a bad design. I have the exact same radio in my Prostar (company truck) and mine does the same thing.
I finally figured out, when I stop but prior to switching the truck off, simply switch to Front AUX or Rear AUX. I keep a 3.5 mm plug in the Front AUX so it allows that selection to show up.
Then, when you turn the truck back on, it is still on either AUX and has no noise.
Reconnect your Bluetooth and you can switch it back to the BT setting. -
I think I will get an aftermarket even though it's a company truck. If I leave the truck I'll put the stock one back in. Can I get an aftermarket radio that plugs right in without having to mess with wiring? -

A lot of truck radios plug in the same, but you'll likely lose any integration with the truck.
See if you can pull it out, you need those U-pins to stick in the front holes, then look at the plug and compare it to the replacement radio. Or a $3 3.5mm patch cord would keep it on FAUX. -

Speedy may be suggesting actually using the Front AUX plugged into your phone. I could see how that would eliminate the static as it would have no need to disconnect from the Bluetooth mode due to it not being connected to it in the first place.
