Train conductor who revived ski train wants to fix I-70 traffic with 'rail bridge'

I'm sure y'all will see all the problems with this, but to me, the biggest question is who pays for it? If the snobs in Eagle County want trucks off the road, then put your fat wallets where you mouth is!

In all his hissy fits about what is a somewhat valid problem, the Vail mayor never addressed one of the bigger problems: non-English speaking drivers who can't read the #### signs. We all know it's a valid problem that the dogooders readily ignore.

And just a heads up, Vail Police will be doing chain & speed enforcement on the Interstate. They just passed an emergency resolution funding it.

I sure miss the days when everyone was so scared of 70 they stayed away.

With all the Californians in CO I'm surprised they haven't already demanded high speed trains across the state.

No mention of how much it might cost to use the service.

They dont ever touch on the non English speaking issue because it's not "PC" to do so... Or at least that's what "society" (i use the word loosely) these days has come to believe...

    1. Is there enough rail capacity for all of the trucks crossing the Rockies? Doubt it.

    2. Nine hours instead of the five hours it normally takes. Time is money.

    3. Could you imagine having to share a sleeper car with some of these drivers? Are they going to THOROUGHLY clean each sleeper after every trip?

    1. No, but it would help a great deal.

    2. And that is 9 in-transit hours. You still have to get to the departure point and book a slot, and at both ends the time to get loaded and unloaded.

    3. Turn 'em and burn 'em... I doubt they would sanitize more than one per day, if that. And that sleeper car will probably cost extra as well.
