A friend of mine recently was telling me how rain x was merely an aid TO the wipers. Not a substitute for them. I personally put 3 coats on before I hit the storm and rarely need to use the trucks wipers. In fact, most of the time, I replace the wipers because they fall apart before they wear out.

    Just curious.

As a side nbote, I also realize that they have thinned out the formula. It USED to last a couple of weeks, but now, it may last a day or two.

I don't usually use rain x on the windshield. I run the rain x fluid in the windshield washer sometimes and it works good. I use rain x on the side windows and the mirrors religiously though. It really helps getting that rain out of the way and reduces water spots improving visibility in the mirrors.

I tried it in the washer fluid and it plugged up the lines and the little nozzles on the wiper blades. Even though it was diluted with the regular windshield washer fluid, it still plugged the lines. It was a mess; replacing the nozzles on the wiper blades didn't fix the problem; all the lines had to be replaced.

I use Rain X in my eyes. When life kicks me in the balls the tears quickly disappear.

I'm talking more about the stuff you manually apply by either spraying it on or wiping it on, not really the stuff you add to the washer fluid.

Does seem the formula is diluted or a little weaker than it used to be.

I use it twice a week normally. Works well in lighter rain without wipers but heavier rain wipers are a must.

I find most people who don't have good luck with it don't apply it correctly. You have to take the extra few minutes to apply it according to the directions to get the best results.

I smeared 4 coats last nite before hitting the rain on 35 in OH. Never turned the wipers on once. It even lasted until this morning. Hit a brief shower. Was out of it before I even knew it was drizzling

I remember when fog x came out at the same time. Evidently, it wasn't a economic hit.
