I would like to see Rand McNally send out compensation checks to all TND730 owners in the amount of $150. The daily issues of Exe errors and unit must be shut down or screen freezing up 3/4 times a day is BS. At the end of the day RM has put out a faulty product and in any other industry there would be a RECALL / CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

 

Had mine for awhile... the occasional glitch as you've described, but overall its worth the investment. Make sure you check for updates when you can.

 

It was an unknown issue till of late. As stated in the support thread RM is working on it.

 

ive been in a like hate w/ my RM ,due to these and other probs from the 520(my 1st rm) to my curr 730.but i always come back to RM bcause they are so user friendly and once all the glitches are worked out its the best gps for truckers out there.YMMV.

 

My 730 Tnd is brand new. Had 3 weeks. Noticed no SD card. Now its black. Won't turn on even plugged in. Any advice? Thanks

 

The 730 has enough internal storage and does not require an SD Card for the maps.

Have you let it charge for a few hours without being on? If the battery is low when you power it on connected to a power source the battery is trying to charge and run the HD screen at the same time. The battery needs to have a good charge on it first out of the box. Sitting from factory, warehouse, and the store drains the battery

 

Its worked fine the past 3 weeks. Then just froze up. It has 3/4 charge now. Will putting in a SD card help or not make a difference? I see a small reset button on the back
