Then go buy a Garmin. -
Go out to the Diesel Boss web site, he has a chart comparing a few Trucker GPS read that too.

We have Rand McNally installed on our EOBRs. I'm not sure on the software version since it's not a separate unit with a model.
I've been really impressed with it so far. I've yet to have an address it couldn't find and it seems to take you right in the way you should. I always get the directions from the shipper/receiver and they generally match. It usually seems to take quicker routes that I know that you usually aren't routed down.
Every once in awhile it wants to take a state highway or road that hugs the freeway to a truckstop you found using the POIs. That's really about the only time I get strange routes.
I only really have one complaint and that is you can't see the final destination ETA if you have a via point loaded. Or if you can I can't find it. Well one more too. Many times if I look for a POI it won't show any until you select services and filter. -
Thanks everyone for responding. I am only interested in that model and no other. Users of RM710 only please...

i bought one and it is theee best investment ive made in trucking so far!
so so helpful, oh and my one broke after 4 weeks and after speaking to a very helpful; technical support they took my one and sent out a new one with a turn around time of ten days..

I have one I use all the time, in conjunction with my road map. Sometimes, if I am familiar with where I'm heading, like going home, the gps tells me that the state route I live off of is restricted truck route, when it's not. I sent RM a message about it. Just confirm your route via the road map, I don't count on an electronic device to do my work, its just a tool, allbeit a GREAT tool, verify things with your map. It even shares the page # and grid coordinates.

I use it all the time. I always verify on maps and customer directions though. Only wish it would orient in the direction I am driving at the time rather than North. Sometimes makes me guess about upcoming intersections if I am not driving North at the time. Had the Cobra first and in the first two weeks tried to take me through residential subdivisions that would have been impossible to navigate in the truck not to mention the legality. Have not faced that issue with the 710 a single time. Warns on restricted routes. Just returned from Canada and it worked fine other than thinking every bend was a "sharp curve".
