The TND does not look at traffic when routing. It like any other GPS will see only roads. Not stop signs, lights, traffic, or horses and buggies. It is a computer looking at Point A to Point B and based upon your truck settings it will route you on a truck legal route. You may find a shorter route or faster route, but it may not be legal for what you are set for. Many many roads are not marked as to truck restrictions. So you may find a route, but it is legally restricted to 53' (STAA) trailers, but you see many trucks on it. Are they right - no, can you get an OD ticket - Yes. A Road is not a just a Road when you are running an STAA class 8 truck.

I have the Rand MacNally 730. It broke right after the warranty expired. Piece of garbage.

Using my smaller unit for 3 years now. Love it. Not perfect, but what is? Ready to replace it with the latest.

@americanmadetrucker fyi put at least 8gb memory card in or you'll have issues updating maps.

$440? You really got ripped off. It's in the Trucks stops for $350 all day long. $399 at its highest.

Is the difference between the 730 and the smaller unit size only? Or features as well.

We have a 530 it's same as 730 except size I believe. The older ones are different a little bit.
Hegemeister Thanks this.
