It might be my unit, cause the thing doesn't take that long on every calculation. It just plotted the route to the house in about 4 seconds and both units chose the same route with one minor variation.

How about listing number of parking spaces at each truck stop in the database at a glance. That would be VERY helpful.

I have the TND 500 and I regularly run from the Carolinas to Denver and back weekly. I pick up I-70 at St. Louis and run it west all the way to Denver. Invariably, my unit will tell me to exit onto I-435N just west of Kansas City, run 'back roads' for over 100 miles, and then back onto I-70. I ignore the directions and continue west on 70 past the 435 interchange, and then my unit will immediately recalculate and tell me to continue on 70 the rest of the way to Denver. Along with the recalculation, it changes both my ETA and Remaining Miles to considerably less than the route it originally suggested. If the miles and time are shorter to stay on I-70, which is what I do anyway, why would it come up with the alternate route to start with?

This has happened multiple times in other locations, but the Kansas location happens requently enough that it's the only one that I can recall specifically at the moment. I update my unit with every available update and it continues to malfunction in this way.

Same thing happened to me today, it wanted me to take us-61 out of St. Louis and run back roads to somewhere in CO and then back on I-70

do you have anything set to avoid? if so, please set to allow.. 1472 still has the avoid issue...

next update will have the patch,,

I have forwarded the info on the two posts to Rand to have them check the mapping database and see if anything is set wrong also.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Personally, I have my unit set to the fastest routing and do not have it set to avoid anything. The confusing thing, for me, is that after disregarding the directions and continuing on I-70W, the distance and ETA both end up being shorter/quicker than the suggested routing. Whether it was set to 'fastest' or 'shortest', continuing on 70 is both. Thanks for forwarding this to Rand.
