Last time I checked the difference between fastest and shortest, fastest had me routed 70 miles up the interstate to a state route that ran up where I was going. Set to shortest it created a giant zig zag route through the mountains that cut 2 miles off the total. The actual route, which the 465t was showing, was 44 miles.
southbaydad Thanks this. -
by the way would a town I am going to not come up
: Austintown ,Oh 13755 Victroia Rd
and this address in salt lake city says invalid? Salt Lake City 13755 Industrial
Both of these locations are suppose to be terminals or drop yards? -
missing out of the mapping Database. I forwarded to RM to be verified and corrected.
Thanks,

NOW only if you knew about inverters? (which actually I think u do?) would I be better to get the Cobra 2500 or the yellow "Pilot truck stop" version-- PoweDrive 2000 ? I have read the Cobra is very noisy and that the thing kicks off alot when it shouldnt, a team friend of mine said they bought the Powerdrive 2000 and so far no problems wiht power and it runs very quietly, what say you==== OOooo great and powerful Mark...LOL you guided me right on course in picking my gps so i thought I would test yer inverter knowledge.. THANKS again for all your helpLast edited: Feb 8, 2010

Cobra are more reliable over the main course of time versus energy used. They will hold their avg rated output for longer periods of time.
The "Noise" are the fans, thus meaning they are using an under rated inverter for the amount of power they require. Fans kicking on to cool the components.
I have a Toshiba Laptop, it will run on a 400w, but I would not run for hours on end. It demands power. 800w is good for 3-5 hours.
A good one for the truck that will usually met all needs is either the 1000 or 1500w unless you are having a power party in your truck.
the 1000 and 1500 along with anything above 800w should be connected directly to your batteries with a circuit breaker in line. The circuit breaker along with the bigger cables are usually sold at truck stops. It is rated usually about 50amps.
The ones replacing the Cobra's are good for short durations, but do not hold the long time energy levels that Cobra's will hold.
The truck stops are replacing probably due to a better cost return. Less cost to buy in bulk and better profit margins.
yes, I know a little,,, 20 years spend fixing AM, SSB and FM transmitters and receivers in the military.

Is it just the address number not coming up? I've had that happen quite a bit on all units. Sometimes it isn't entered in the database and sometimes the unit just doesn't see it for some reason. If you go to the street and click around, sometimes it will show the addresses where you click and you can find it that way. Or at least the address one number off or across the street.
Also, drop yards are pretty iffy. A lot of them will have a physical address where the map says it is, but the entrance could be 2 miles away on another street and you have to go in via their own access road. Best to call those places before hand.Dieselboss Thanks this. -
:::Comparison Test:::
13755 Victoria Road in Austintown, OH (results
- Google Maps: Has Victoria Road in Austintown but no address of 13755
- Garmin 465T: Does not have Austintown. It does have that location listed in "Youngstown, Ohio." But it does not have address "13755" on that street. I was able to enter valid addresses on Victoria Road as long as I chose the town as "Youngstown."
- Rand TND500: Does not have Austintown. It does have that location listed in "Youngstown, Ohio." But it does not have address "13755" on that street. I was able to enter valid addresses on Victoria Road as long as I chose the town as "Youngstown."
- Cobra: Has Victoria Road listed by either town name (Austintown OR Youngstown) but no "13755" on that street.
- PCMiler Navigator: Has Victoria Road listed by either town name (Austintown OR Youngstown) but no "13755" on that street.
Conclusion: I think that there is something wrong with your building number, and the NavTeq maps do not have "Austintown." In reality, Austintown is a suburb of Youngstown and the NavTeq maps have all of the addresses in Austintown folded under the umbrella of Youngstown. PC Miler and Cobra have it either way that you try to enter it.
13755 Industrial (?) Salt Lake City, UT.
"Industrial" what? There is an Industrial "Road" and an Industrial "Circle" and a "West" Industrial "Circle" in Salt Lake City and NONE of them have 13755 on them.
- Google Maps: Has it, but says that address number does not exist.
- Garmin 465T: Has it, but says that address number does not exist.
- Rand TND500: Has it, but says that address number does not exist.
- Cobra: Has it, but says that address number does not exist.
- PC Miler: Has it, but says that address number does not exist.
Conclusion: Incomplete address. All units show this street (and several others called "Industrial") but none have the given address number on those streets.
Things that make you go hmmmm.Mark Kling Thanks this.
