From the Main menu, chose Destination, then New Location, then either by address, city or intersection.
It you are trying to find an POI, are you chosing "my Truck" or a city? If you chose "my truck" it should show you all those around your physical location.
Make sure your TND is on ver 1472 and the TND Dock is on ver 1.0.60.0
TND - main menu\preferences\device settings\about
TND Dock - Show IntelliRoute TND Info.

it works, I just have to watch it like a hawk and play with the cord, its a bad connection and getting worse
-
We have had experience with a bad socket on the unit, power cord is fine. Unit is being shipped back to Rand. It would be great if Rand could change their return polices to a faster turn around.
-
I think the problems with the power cords are inherent to the mini usb design, not anything rand did. I've had other stuff that had the same problems, cameras, external drives, etc. -
Restricted roads or routing you on a different exit.
bdmoose, when you report a issue like the one you shown by kajidono, I see the issue here and copy the post and forward it directly to the dept that handles this type of mapping issues. They in turn look at the current mapping database and if need be run the route on an emulator. Their are a lot of factors that go into a mapping database for road segments. They are just not roads.
The first rule of thumb is the road STAA? If it is not then the TND will not route you on it period.
Is the road weight, length or height restricted in the mapping database? if so is it correct? Rand verifies anything that is not correct with the state DOT. If the state DOT is showing that road not to be restricted, but the mapping database is then Rand corrects the mapping database.
Good Example. I-80 x 6, Gary,IN. The main road off the ramp in the current mapping database is rated for 14k. State DOT says not. So, a mapping error. Rand corrected the mapping database.
When you post a mapping issue here I always post the reply from Rand when they finish their research. kajidono found a restricted road in front of a Truck stop. It turns out the mapping database and State DOT verified. When the truck stop was build someone figured the short segment of the road was okay to put a truck stop. Can Rand change the mapping database to take up for this? - NO. Rand has to go by State DOT and local Laws in their mapping database.
Some towns restrict on their own. State DOT may or may not know about this. If the information is not passed up through proper channels then Rand will never know until something is mentioned.
Will you get instant updates to the mapping database when these corrections are done? - NO. the mapping database is broken down into different parts, but all the parts are intertwined. So, it is a all or none type of update. The mapping database is over 2.5 GB. It takes a lot of time and money to try to get everyone updated. Most navigation companies only update maps quarterly or yearly. Rand has the next mapping database and it is QA right now.
So, do not feel what you post is simply air or something that is not taken seriously. What you post does make a difference.
Thanks,

Is anyone still having the expired license show up after updating on the TND Dock (within the last two months)? If so, please contact me.
Thanks,
Mark
