The new version is still in QA. It does resolve the issue of "allow" versus "avoid" in route settings, It does have "Via" points.

QA will release it when their testing is done. I guessamatied about 2 weeks. This version is taking a little longer.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Good question. Can't give you an answer. I run Flat bed, so height is not a big problem for me. most of the time I am at 12 Ft or less, so I run'em
The big thing is the dern spring time weight restrictions

One reason I can see the garman car unit and the Rand truck unit coming up with different routes on long trips, is that the garmin uses an average speed in its calculation, Rand uses speed limits.
I really do not like the way the rand uses the speed limits though, since in most cases I cannot go them, and it just takes me longer to get there.
I would like it to calculate with a max speed of around 57 mph, since 99% of people will not average even that speed in the long run.
I had a triple digit truck that I would drive at around 70 most of the time. My average speed in that truck on my gps for a year was 56 mph.
In a 65 mph truck for over a year, my average speed was 55.
In a 62 mph truck for 6 months, average speed 54.

Not many drivers or owner ops go over 70 mph anymore. Fuel is too high.
But this unit likes to do things by the limit, though it is like 5 mph under now. But many many times on roads I drive the limit is off.
The unit will say on the screen it is 55 mph, but it is still calculating arrival at 60 mph.
So every day I have to add an hour+++ for its time being off. If I listened to the unit I would be late 100% of my loads.
These days being late on 1 load gets you fired.

They need to find a better way, or let us pick a max speed.

    It is hit or miss.
On most main roads in NY they have it right.
On many side streets, like in Buffalo they have it wrong. I found this out the other day, allot of 13.8-14' bridges there.
But it will not route you to ANY of them, even though they are legal. You get the full page warning.
But it has no issue with one posted 12.9' down the road from me.

Since it goes off speed limits, it tries to route you on roads where it knows the speed limits, even if that way is much longer. The garmin does it too to a lesser extent.

The TND does not pick roads based upon if the speed is in the database. It picks roads off of many factors. I cannot discuss those factors as they are company patents.

But, it will try to route you on Legal routes as what is in the current mapping database in the TND.

If the routes do not seem correct then let me know so that Rand may research and find out why.

    Thanks,
    Mark
