Really? So I was lyed to by RM website. I bought a map update about four months ago for my TND 500 and it said that it came with lifetime map updates. Even says it on the box(I can snap a picture and post it if you want). Think the next GPS will be a PC Miler brand!

I would post a photo if you think otherwise....cause here it is,
right from the horse's mouth and in black and white for the TND (especially TND500):

    That is a different Promo.

    1. If you buy the Maps, you get free lifetime Maps.

    2. If you buy a 510/710 (Nov 1st - Dec 31st) you get free lifetime maps.

    Thanks,
    Mark

They're pretty spot on with the definitions of lifetime. Everyone goes by that, even Microsoft. That's why they don't put out updates for win 95, 98, or xp. At some point the product, whatever it is, will become so outdated that it's no longer feasible to support it.

My first truck gps was a pcmiler. That thing was by far the worst gps I have ever owned.

Anyway, here's another thing I've noticed. Uh, where am I going? I can't see anything...

Did you go back and try again? Looks like the map did not paint. I do see it on mine.

    Thanks,
    Mark

It does that every time on mine. The map is there but the destination is underneath all the buttons so you can never see it. Of course if you go to the map it kicks you back out and you have to start over. Guess they're never going to fix that.

Yup, that's the one. I dunno when I'm gonna get back home to send it but I figure I'll catch some of the things it does in the meantime.
