Is Rand McNally coming out with new models? I went to their site because I'm thinking about buying the 750. But on their site right now they only list for sale "refurbished" 500 and 750. There is no listing for new ones. Anyone know what is going on? Thanks

WTH? I wanted to buy a motor carrier's atlas too and they don't even list it any more. I am starting to feel kind of sick to my stomach. I am so used to their atlases, but are they getting out of the whole commercial truck thing? Very scary.

OK, thanks for the info. I thought I had bought the motor carrier atlas from the Rand McNally site in the past. I guess I was wrong.

Like you said, I messed up and meant the TND 710 (not 750). I don't know what was going on earlier today because I swear all I could find from the front page under "Products ... Truck GPS" were the refurbished ones. But now the site is back to how I remember it with the user manual and everything. I wonder what will happen if I buy a 710 and then that model is discontinued in a few weeks. I've compared it to Garmin, PC Miler, and a few others and I like it the best. But I'm afraid to buy it now if there will be no support in the future.

P.S. - I don't think I can mount it on my windshield, isn't that illegal unless in the passenger side corner? If I put it flush to the dash with velcro tape, will it still be able to get a signal? Thanks again for the info.

OK, cool, I just found the new video about it too ** Sorry, one more quick question I'm editing in: In the video at 2:12, the guys says it can be hooked up to a Mac. But in the online QuickStart Guide it says PC only. Has that changed? Thanks: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McBxTBQ2Si4[/ame]

They are talking about the Dock. There is a Mac and PC version now. I will bring it to the attention of the folks at Rand to update the material.

Future - depends how far in the future we are talking about. Rand still supports the T5B which came out in 2009.

I have testers and users that do attach it to the Dash. Some states will not allow it to attach to the windshield, but most do. Just make sure it does not create a blind spot or hamper your vision to your blind spot mirrors or around the edge of the hood.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Does that mean if all I have is a Macbook, I can still do all the updates using a usb? I really appreciate all your detailed info on this product. It says a lot that an official Rand McNally person is here to help us. :biggrin_25514:

Sorry, one last thing: can I do the updates using an iPad (with 3G)? Thanks!
