You need to be able to connect via an USB cable the device to the computer.

    Thanks,

OK, thanks very much. Anyone buy from DieselBoss? Their price ($299.99) is even lower than Amazon but I wonder if the units are returns or this is some kind of catch. It seems almost too good to be true.

*Sorry, had to edit. That was 24 hours ago. Amazon just lowered their price to match. I wonder what is going on.

Rand (as well as all other manufacturers) provides an "MSRP" and modulates the cost that dealers, truck stops, (or Amazon) pay for the units from the factory. These numbers CHANGE multiple times during the year and you will see those changes on the retail end.

IN ADDITION a manufacturer can offer rebates and specials that can be invoked during certain months. For instance, earlier this year all Rand's came with free lifetime maps. Then they all had an instant rebate when the lifetime maps special ended. Now they have lowered the MSRP to $299.99 on the TND710 for the time-being.

There is no catch - it is normal market modulation. The Garmin truck units have dropped over $100 in the last 12 months as have PCM, as have Cobra... Normal market competition. And no, I do not sell Rand-branded returns. lol.

Ralph4159 and Mark Kling Thank this.

Thanks for the excellent detailed info. I totally love your GPS comparison chart. I was doing a research paper in college and your site had the best info. That is how I originally decided to go with the TND instead of Garmin. I see that you update the reviews periodically, so I like to check them often. Sorry about my suspicion that there was some kind of catch. I rarely see any sites beat Amazon's prices (as well as free shipping and no sales tax). But when I was first checking a few days ago, your price beat theirs (before they updated). That is a good sign of your integrity and I appreciate it. Thanks again.

So I have the TND 510 but am having trouble updating the program since I bought a new laptop, I can't seem to figure a way to get it to update anymore?

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?

    Thanks.

What model of TND? Look on the back at the serial number.

32 bit or 64 bit computer? What OS? Win7?

You could try a USB power hub. The 1.1 hub is a rare bird to find. They do not sell them in the US anymore.

    Thanks,
    Mark
