I just registered as over the past week I have read this whole forum while trying to decide on the tnd 500.
I have looked all over RM site but cannot find a user manual just quickstart directions so I don't no if there is one or not?
I hade a chance to look at one on display for about 5 minutes the other day, I want to know if the driving timers start automatic when you move or do you have to remember to change status manually?
I have had Garmins ( which I like) as well as the copilot ( which I sold) but am very intrested in the Rm unit and would like to see the forum get back to usefull info instead of everyone argueing. Keep up the good work some of us are grateful for your answers and opinions.

You have to start the timers.
There is a butten for them on the main screen.
Also having several odometers is very nice. I use one for my dayly miles, one for the week, and one that I will never reset. Or may use for the year. Have not decided yet.

Their is a user manual, but it is on the TND Dock. The TND 500 comes with an install program to put this on your computer.

As for the Timers...ChromeDome is correct, at this stage it is a manual thing,, but future plans have that changing,,, just did not make it on the first release of the production version.

My theory in code writing is, the less the user has to do the less mistakes made in the output... (if the code was written right)..

    Thanks,
    Mark

Do you remember where you bought your Deluxe 2010 MCRA? I talked to RM and they would like more info.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I got the large size this time by accident. So my page numbers do not match with what the GPS says lol.
    I can live with that.

Actually Mark I think starting the timers manual is better, If you ever drove a truck with a Cadec computer years ago that logged everything if you moved in the parking lot it would mess up your break, a real mess.
Also does anyone know if the TND500 has a trackback log feature this is nice on the garnin where you can see the blue line where you have been recently, or if there are plans for adding this?
I know I will not give up my Garmin as I am running 2 now but would like to only run 2 not 3.

ChromeDome... yep...:biggrin_25514:,,, RM only have the thin version in the unit...Will query RM on what they feel about the deluxe and laminated... BTW... was on my scope for a feature,...

    ******************************

orangefreak...you are talking about breadcrumbs... did not make this version... but on the scope.

and the timers..RM has thought about the smaller movements and things will be done to not allow that...

    Thanks,
    Mark

I contacted RM last week. They should be taking care of it.

Like I said I did not mention this to trash anyone just poit out mistakes can happen and we should not judge the manufacturer until they are given a chace to address the problem.

    Thanks

I purchased the MCRA Large scale with the spiral binding at the Petro in Bordentown NJ about 2 to 3 weeks ago.

I am home now and the MCRA is in the truck. If you need any more info I will get it when I get back on the road.

I will PM or e-mail my detail info.
