In regards to some routing issues..

This is what RM found out.

DE-300, Database has this road showing a 56,000lb weight limit, DE-DOT does not show this weight restriction. So, in the TND database it was getting conflicing mapping data. This could let to the unit locking up. RM has added this to the "fix-it" list.

Chicago, IL - York, PA,, the route the TND showed was 24 more miles less. Could this be a better route? I do not know, but I know that area and it is a roller coaster ride on some of the Legal truck routes in PA.

Buffalo, NY to Gettsburg, PA. RM could not get the unit to duplicate the route you mentioned.

So, all in all, you found out a pretty interesting situation. DE-DOT forgot to "tag" a route truck restricted. The sign may be out there, but it is not in the "paperwork". RM thanks you for finding this. The TND and MCRA will be corrected.

    Thanks,
    Mark

actual users - I will be going through this thread again and posting any know Mac users.... new update will be release soon.

    questions I need answered.

    1. Can your TND be "seen" by your MAC via USB?

    2. If no, to question 1, do you have an SD slot?

    3. Can you upzip a file, I use winzip.

    4. If you do not have an SD slot, do you have an SD to USB adapter?

    5. I can get you to the lasted version, but it details a little more than connecting to a TND Dock.

    6. You may loose any history or address book, but, I am still working on this.

    7. I can send you the files you need via internet, (20mb zipped), and either call you or email you the instructions. Takes about 5 minutes to do the update.

    8. If you are unable to do the update on the road, I can still send you the update and once you get home I can work with you then.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Just an update.
I ran on I-99/ 322 in PA the other day while not in routing mode. It followed the road fine. But when I did it routing a week before it did not see the road.
Also this seems to be where it's hangup is. For some reason it does not like to route that way at all. Really have to fight it to get it to go.
On the 300 in DE. At first it routed me around a different route, but I headed towards the 300 and it changed to it.
The signs are around 2 small towns along the road, not at either end.
There were only 2 or 3 of them the whole length of the road.
I know and run allot of the roller coaster roads around Northwest PA. Some are not too bad, some I would not go on again. Many are great on a motorcycle though.

Have you tried to detour this route in PA to see if it will route you the way you want?

The DE issue is one of left hand not talking to right hand.. the internal mapping was having conflicts on different overlays on road restrictions.

One company I worked for in PA..ran a lot of the legal back roads... wanted me to go under a restricted bridge...told me if I went slow I could make it... told them nope... Will do changeover at truck stop... Prob could have if I let all the air out of my tires...

Be aware,,,new version is coming out very shortly... so may have to see how it runs the route in PA..

    Thanks,
    Mark

There is a good one on Rt. 227 outside Warren PA. Right before it hits Rt.6.
It is marked as 12'8 or something, but is 13.6 in the middle. Trucks run it all the time lol.
But I would not want to come up that road not knowing it with a 13'6 truck.
Same with Rt. 36 in NY going up from I-86 to I-390. Right where they meet you see a sign on a bridge saying 12'8 it is a NY bridge though so is a foot higher. Allot of lockup marks there though. Sign is only 4 inch by 6 inch and on bridge. Nothing before that.

Routes that you learn from other drivers like that are fine, but I would never follow dispatch under one.
