Rand McNally intelliRoute TND 500

ok will resend mark. also another issue just started: when i enter a new route a time/miles will appear right away but they are off, and the rest of the info wont come up and map stays frozen. sometimes sits like that 5 or more minutes. sometimes have to turn unit off and back on? any suggestions? thnx.

as to your issue..what version are you on?

main screen/preferences/device settings/about

I am going to send you an small program to extract a few files off your unit and will need you to attach them to an E-mail and send to me...

you can save the program to your desktop...not a big file... connect your TND unit...give it a few minutes,, then run the program... it will ask you for the drive letter your TND is showing...

note- two drives will pop up.. one should only have the Navi and RM folder..this is the drive you will need to put into the program

the program will put the files in C:\Randbugfiles

Greg brought up a good point in an E-mail.

The TND will only show warnings for permanent scales as listed in the MCRA.

If the pull-off is used for temporary inspections/portable scales then the TND will not show those...

ok thanks mark. i see about the scales since pa and wv are in rest areas, i think same in mass too. i will run program when home this wknd. i have the newest version 2009.9.1392.2101 have been doing updates. its still froze like that now have been restarting and reprogramming for hours, im in parking lot at Greenland,NH at T/A. just let u know also small item and i sent to "tell rand" the town of Seabrook,NJ wasnt found.

 

It should be noted that Columbus found the New World by accident.

 

on the back of the unit,, right hand corner is a small recessed button.. with unit on...press that button in...will reset the unit... then power unit back on and see if it is working...

what destination are you trying to put in?

mark, ok heres whats wrong i think. i had my route in going from boston area to an address in portland,maine was up just fine but now parked at T/A in greenland,new hampshire just stopped but i noticed the little "satellite icon" on main screen is gone too? guess have no signal here but thats strange?

 

The satellite icon is always gone when the unit "sees" satellites.

on right bottom of screen it should say

Satellites used/seen..

can you tell me the numbers?
