Mark, I hope RM monitors this forum because of you and RM's customer service I just bought the TND 500 tonight at the Loves in Cedar City Utah. I can't wait to start driving in the morning, I have already added several destinations into the address book so I am ready to go.

Unless you have an easier way I am going to load windows XP on my mac tomorrow when I get home so I can get the latest updates.

I had to reset the unit because the touch screen didn't work, then it started to work but it kept asking me several times if I was on a 10 hour break. The longer it is plugged in the better it is working.

P.S. I was playing with your demo today at the Loves in Barstow Ca. When it would go into demo mode warnings would come up saying missing files, I turned it off and back on but it is still messed up. Perhaps RM can call the manager and have him try to use the reset button to fix it. Hate to see RM loose sales because of the demo model not working right.

    Chris

thanks for the extended warranty info... closest TA to me is 120 miles away... I always look at each truck stop when I drive around doing my testing..

let me know how the unit reacts today...

best to let it charge for two hours before you play with it... had some funny things happen if not charged the first time...

if you are in an on duty/driving status on the main screen then go to off duty it will ask you if you are taking a 10 hour break.

also in preferences/device settings/align screen...if you have touch problems in the upper right..do this screen alignment utility.

Right now we have a work around and RM is working on a driver to mount the TND to the Mac.. .. work around requires an sd slot or an SD adapter to USB...

I forwarded the info on the demo unit...thx.. cannot have a broke demo unit...

    Thanks all,
    Mark

Yes you will be able to get the free updates...just make sure you send in the registration card.... but if you need updates before then I can zip the current production version and send it to you... will require you have a utility to unzip it.... I use evauation version of Winzip.... updates do not expire....

    Thanks,
    Mark

Mark, Can you not register online? To get the updates as soon as you buy the unit.
    Thanks, Bill

Think you have to mail in the registration card first..

but will bring that up to RM, since drivers are buying on the road and need updates asap..

if you buy let me know then I can send you the updates if your unit is not on current version..

    Thanks,
    Mark

Not sure if you are asking about the same "updates" that I think you are. But I didn't send in any warranty card to use the TND dock. Just plugged the unit in and installed the dock application.
