Steve, I am Mark the Lead Beta tester, along with other Beta testers we do monitor this forum.
Anything and everything RM does see that is posted on this thread.
Good idea about the voice on recalc's.
Via point is not a running in route feature yet, you would have to create a multipoint.
Multi-stop is currently being worked on to add more features.
your seeing only one leg on a multi-stop is being worked on.
Under Truck tools, timers is the avg speed... two counters, resettable by tapping on them.
The MCRA is the standard one right now. (thin one)
To do a Multi-stop, you can add destinations from new locations, history or POI's.
To do a simple one, main screen\choose destination\multi-stop trips
create new trip
name your trip folder\enter
tap on your new trip folder
down at the bottom - add address
4 choices - for example go to enter new address
city center
find (example) Boston, MA
click and enter (once you find it)
yes to add another destination
enter new address
city center
find (example) Watertown, MA
click and enter (once you find it)
yes to add another destination
enter new address
city center
find (example) Woburn, MA
click and enter (once you find it)
yes to add another destination
enter new address
city center
find (example) Peabody, MA
click and enter (once you find it)
no to add another destination
you should have four destinations.
now you can click on optimize trip and select your first/last stop with the option of returning to your starting point or you can start trip and based upon your physically location the unit will route all the stops for you.
Now can you pick your stops in sequence, not of as yet. Being worked on.
Hope this helps,
Mark

Please put in an ability to disable the voice on recalc feature, that annoyed me on my garmin and they let you disable it.
My biggest beef at this moment is how bright the screen is at night fully dimmed. It lights up too much of the cab and glares in my eyes. Please ask them to give me the ability to dim that a whole lot more. I'm having to run down the road with a cat scale ticket folded over it. -
I got a call from Tony at Rand today, and we are trying a fix, but I need to get somewhere when I am still, and have some time to fuss. I do not have a flash drive, nor do I have a flash reader with me. OOPS, I take that back, I guess I could "borrow" the 8gb flash from my Nikon camera, but I still would need a reader. Maybe need to stop at a Walmart or Best Buy for one, in the next couple of days. But, Tony sent me the link to the webpage where I can download the dock, and all I need to do, to give it a try is be prepared to deal with it, and it alone, for a couple of hours. Likely, that will be Tuesday or Wednesday, this week. Would love to talk direct to you. Can you send me a contact number at me email address? sharkmandan (at) verizon (dot) net. I don't use that one much, but it has the best filters for spam, and I can change it easily. But, it does forward everything over to my .mac email.
Thanks for all the effort. -
Well after 3 days with the Garmin Nuvi 465T i decided to take it back and exchange for the RM TND, to be honest i have only played with it for a couple of hours now and am still getting acquainted to it. The helpfullness of Mark and others and the apparent interest in RM to make it the best is what sold me on the swap. I will be connecting it to my laptop tomorrow and updating the software before i start pointing out any "issues", like the fact that I as i drive through Idaho the speed limit indicator keeps switching back and forth from the Auto speed of 75 and the truck speed of 65. I was frustrated right out of the box with the Nuvi with its constant displaying of the car speed and it used the car speed limit in Oregon and WA to calculate my arrival time. Minor to some maybe but for me I like to look at my GPS and see 3 things right away, Map, Distance remaining, and either a time of arrival or amount of time to my arrival. Their ETA clock was highly inaccurate due to using the car speed limits and you had to go to a different screen to see how far you have left to travel.

Mark, I had read earlier where you had said to hold off on updating? Is this still the case? I just got my new RM and want to make sure it is current before putting my 2 cents in? current ver is 2009.9.1372.1949 Terry
